1. 1ആഹാബിന്നു ശമര്യയിൽ എഴുപതു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേൽപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും മൂപ്പന്മാർക്കും ആഹാബിന്റെ പുത്രപാലകന്മാർക്കും ശമര്യയിലേക്കു എഴുത്തുകളെ എഴുതി അയച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:
2. 2നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും രഥങ്ങളും കുതിരകളും ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണവും ആയുധങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈവശം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
3. 3ആകയാൽ ഈ എഴുത്തു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തിയ ഉടനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ഉത്തമനും യോഗ്യനുമായവനെ നോക്കിയെടുത്തു അവന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുത്തി നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധം ചെയ്‌വിൻ.
4. 4അവരോ ഏറ്റവും ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: രണ്ടു രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കും അവനോടു എതിർത്തുനില്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ലല്ലോ; പിന്നെ നാം എങ്ങനെ നില്ക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
