അങ്ങനെ പുരോഹിതന്മാർ തങ്ങൾ മേലാൽ ജനത്തോടു ദ്രവ്യം വാങ്ങാതിരിപ്പാനും ആലയത്തിന്റെ അറ്റകുറ്റം തീർക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും സമ്മതിച്ചു.

- 9അപ്പോൾ യെഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതൻ ഒരു പെട്ടകം എടുത്തു അതിന്റെ മൂടിയിൽ ഒരു ദ്വാരം ഉണ്ടാക്കി യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നരികെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രവേശനത്തിന്റെ വലത്തു ഭാഗത്തു വെച്ചു; വാതിൽ കാക്കുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു വരുന്ന ദ്രവ്യം ഒക്കെയും അതിൽ ഇടും.
- 10പെട്ടകത്തിൽ ദ്രവ്യം വളരെയായി എന്നു കാണുമ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ രായസക്കാരനും മഹാപുരോഹിതനും കൂടെച്ചെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കണ്ട ദ്രവ്യം എണ്ണി സഞ്ചികളിൽ കെട്ടും.
