നാം ഏതു വഴിയായി പോകേണം എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: എദോംമരുഭൂമിവഴിയായി തന്നേ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

- 9അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു യെഹൂദാരാജാവും എദോംരാജാവുമായി പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ ഏഴു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി ചുറ്റിനടന്നശേഷം അവരോടുകൂടെയുള്ള സൈന്യത്തിന്നും മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും വെള്ളം കിട്ടാതെയായി.
- 10അപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു: അയ്യോ, ഈ മൂന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരെയും യഹോവ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തിയതു അവരെ മോവാബ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
