അപ്പോൾ വില്ലാളികൾ മതിലിന്മേൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ ചേവകരെ എയ്തു, രാജാവിന്റെ ചേവകരിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയി, നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യൻ ഹിത്യനായ ഊരീയാവും മരിച്ചു.

- 25അതിന്നു ദാവീദ് ദൂതനോടു: ഈ കാര്യത്തിൽ വ്യസനം തോന്നരുതു; വാൾ അങ്ങും ഇങ്ങും നാശം ചെയ്യും; പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ശക്തിയോടെ പൊരുതു അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളക എന്നു നീ യോവാബിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
- 26ഊരീയാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യ തന്റെ ഭർത്താവായ ഊരീയാവു മരിച്ചുപോയി എന്നു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ഭർത്താവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു.
