1. 12ബേല്ത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നു പേരുവിളിച്ച ദാനീയേലിൽ ഉൽകൃഷ്ടമനസ്സും അറിവും ബുദ്ധിയും സ്വപ്നവ്യാഖ്യാനവും ഗൂഢാർത്ഥവാക്യ പ്രദർശനവും സംശയച്ഛേദനവും കണ്ടിരിക്കയാൽ, രാജാവു അവനെ മന്ത്രവാദികൾക്കും ആഭിചാരകന്മാർക്കും കല്ദയർക്കും ശകുനവാദികൾക്കും അധിപതിയാക്കിവെച്ചു; ഇപ്പോൾ ദാനീയേലിനെ വിളിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ അർത്ഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു ഉണർത്തിച്ചു.

3. 14ദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവു നിന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നും പ്രകാശവും ബുദ്ധിയും വിശേഷജ്ഞാനവും നിന്നിൽ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
4. 15ഇപ്പോൾ ഈ എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചു അർത്ഥം അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വിദ്വാന്മാരെയും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരുത്തിയിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും കാര്യത്തിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അറിയിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
5. 16എന്നാൽ അർത്ഥം പറവാനും സംശയച്ഛേദനം ചെയ്‌വാനും നീ പ്രാപ്തനെന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ ഈ എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചു, അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അറിയിപ്പാൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ നീ ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും കഴുത്തിൽ പൊന്മാലയും ധരിച്ചു, രാജ്യത്തിലെ മൂന്നാമനായി വാഴും.
