1. 16യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിക്കും; എന്നാൽ ഈ ജനം പാർപ്പാൻ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ പിൻചെന്നു പരസംഗം ചെയ്കയും എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
2. 17എന്റെ കോപം അവരുടെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ അവരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും എന്റെ മുഖം അവർക്കു മറെക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അവർ നാശത്തിന്നിരയായ്തീരും; അനേകം അനർത്ഥങ്ങളും കഷ്ടങ്ങളും അവർക്കു ഭവിക്കും; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടല്ലയോ ഈ അനർത്ഥങ്ങൾ നമുക്കു ഭവിച്ചതു എന്നു അവർ അന്നു പറയും.
3. 18എങ്കിലും അവർ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള സകലദോഷവുംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ അന്നു എന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളയും.
4. 19ആകയാൽ ഈ പാട്ടു എഴുതി യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ പഠിപ്പിക്ക; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ നേരെ ഈ പാട്ടു എനിക്കു സാക്ഷിയായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു അവർക്കു വായ്പാഠമാക്കിക്കൊടുക്കുക.
5. 20ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യംചെയ്തതായി പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്തു അവരെ എത്തിച്ചശേഷം അവർ തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി തടിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവയെ സേവിക്കയും എന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിച്ചു എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
