അതിന്നു അസാഹേലിന്റെ മകനായ യോനാഥാനും തിക്ക്വയുടെ മകനായ യഹ്സെയാവും മാത്രം വിരോധം പറഞ്ഞു; മെശുല്ലാമും ശബ്ബെഥായി എന്ന ലേവ്യനും അവരെ താങ്ങിപ്പറഞ്ഞു.

- 16പ്രവാസികളോ അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തു, എസ്രാപുരോഹിതനെയും പിതൃഭവനം പിതൃഭവനമായി ചില പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരെയും പേരുപേരായി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു, അവർ ഈ കാര്യം വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ പത്താം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി യോഗംകൂടി.
- 17അന്യജാതിക്കാരത്തികളെ വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചിരുന്ന സകലപുരുഷന്മാരുടെയും കാര്യം അവർ ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതികൊണ്ടു തീർത്തു.
