അവർ: കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും കൂടുവോളം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വഹിയാ; അവർ കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കൽനിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടും; പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

- 9അവൻ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ റാഹേൽ തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകളോടുകൂടെ വന്നു. അവളായിരുന്നു അവയെ മേയിച്ചുവന്നതു.
- 10തന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ മകൾ റാഹേലിനെയും അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകളെയും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ യാക്കോബ് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു കണറ്റിന്റെ വായ്ക്കൽനിന്നു കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടി, അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ ആടുകൾക്കു വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തു.
