And Laban went into Jacob’s tent, and into Leah’s tent, and into the two maidservants’ tents; but he found [them] not. Then went he out of Leah’s tent, and entered into Rachel’s tent.

2. 32എന്നാൽ നീ ആരുടെ പക്കൽ എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ കണ്ടാൽ അവൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കരുതു; എന്റെ പക്കൽ നിന്റെ വക വല്ലതും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു നീ നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരന്മാർ കാൺകെ നോക്കി എടുക്ക എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. റാഹേൽ അവയെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചതു യാക്കോബ് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.
3. 33അങ്ങനെ ലാബാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ലേയയുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും രണ്ടു ദാസിമാരുടെ കൂടാരത്തിലും ചെന്നു നോക്കി, ഒന്നും കണ്ടില്ല താനും; അവൻ ലേയയുടെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി റാഹേലിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ചെന്നു.
4. 34എന്നാൽ റാഹേൽ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു ഒട്ടകക്കോപ്പിനകത്തു ഇട്ടു അതിന്മേൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു. ലാബാൻ കൂടാരത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും തിരഞ്ഞു നോക്കി, കണ്ടില്ല താനും.
5. 35അവൾ അപ്പനോടു: യജമാനൻ കോപിക്കരുതേ; നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ എഴുന്നേല്പാൻ എനിക്കു കഴിവില്ല; സ്ത്രീകൾക്കുള്ള മുറ എനിക്കു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശോധന കഴിച്ചു; ഗൃഹവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ കണ്ടില്ല താനും.
