അപ്പോൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതൻ അവനോടു: മാംസവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത വടകളും എടുത്തു ഈ പാറമേൽവെച്ചു ചാറു അതിന്മേൽ ഒഴിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അവൻ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.

- 21യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ കയ്യിലുള്ള വടിയുടെ അറ്റംകൊണ്ടു മാംസവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത വടയും തൊട്ടു; ഉടനെ പാറയിൽനിന്നു തീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു മാംസവും പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത വടയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു മറഞ്ഞു.
- 22അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതൻ എന്നു ഗിദെയോൻ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: അയ്യോ, ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതനെ അഭിമുഖമായി കണ്ടു പോയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
