2. 28പട്ടണക്കാർ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റപ്പോൾ ബാലിന്റെ ബലിപീഠം ഇടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അതിന്നരികെയുള്ള അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നതും പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ ആ രണ്ടാമത്തെ കാളയെ യാഗം കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.
3. 29ഇതു ചെയ്തതു ആരെന്നു അവർ തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു, അന്വേഷണം കഴിച്ചപ്പോൾ യോവാശിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിദെയോൻ ആകുന്നു ചെയ്തതു എന്നു കേട്ടു.
4. 30പട്ടണക്കാർ യോവാശിനോടു: നിന്റെ മകനെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരിക; അവൻ മരിക്കേണം; അവൻ ബാലിന്റെ ബലിപീഠം ഇടിച്ചു അതിന്നരികത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠയേയും വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
5. 31യോവാശ് തന്റെ ചുറ്റും നില്ക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു: ബാലിന്നു വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങളോ വ്യവഹരിക്കുന്നതു? നിങ്ങളോ അവനെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നതു? അവന്നുവേണ്ടി വ്യവഹരിക്കുന്നവൻ ഇന്നു രാവിലെ തന്നേ മരിക്കേണം; അവൻ ഒരു ദൈവം എങ്കിൽ തന്റെ ബലിപീഠം ഒരുത്തൻ ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു താൻ തന്നേ തന്റെ കാര്യം വ്യവഹരിക്കട്ടെ.
