లోయ అవతలనున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులును, యొర్దాను అవతల నున్నవారును, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పారి పోవుటయు, సౌలును అతని కుమారులును చచ్చియుండు టయు చూచి తమ నివాసగ్రామములు విడిచిపెట్టి పారిపోయిరి. ఫిలిష్తీయులు వచ్చి వాటిలో కాపురముండిరి.

Loya avatalanunna ishraayeleeyulunu, yordaanu avatala nunnavaarunu, ishraayeleeyulu paari povutayu, saulunu atani kumaarulunu chachchiyundu tayu choochi tama nivaasagraamamulu vidichipetti paaripoyiri. Philishteeyulu vachchi vaatilo kaapuramundiri.

King James Version (KJV): And when the men of Israel that [were] on the other side of the valley, and [they] that [were] on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

9అతని తలను ఛేదించి అతని ఆయుధములను తీసి తమ బొమ్మల గుళ్లలోను జనుల లోను జయవర్తమానము తెలియజేయుటకై ఫిలిష్తీయుల దేశములో నలుదిశలు వాటిని పంపిరి.
