1. 7పౌలు వచ్చినప్పుడు యెరూషలేమునుండి వచ్చిన యూదులు అతని చుట్టు నిలిచి, భారమైన నేరములనేకముల మోపిరి గాని వాటిని ఋజువు చేయలేక పోయిరి.
2. 8అందుకు పౌలుయూదుల ధర్మశాస్త్రమును గూర్చి గాని దేవాలయమును గూర్చి గాని, కైసరును గూర్చి గాని నేనెంతమాత్రమును తప్పిదము చేయలేదని సమాధానము చెప్పెను.
3. 9అయితే ఫేస్తు యూదులచేత మంచివాడనిపించు కొనవలెనని యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ నా యెదుట ఈ సంగతులనుగూర్చి విమర్శింపబడుట నీకిష్టమా అని పౌలును అడిగెను.
4. 10అందుకు పౌలు కైసరు న్యాయపీఠము ఎదుట నిలువబడి యున్నాను; నేను విమర్శింపబడవలసిన స్థలమిదే, యూదులకు నేను అన్యాయమేమియు చేయలేదని తమరికి బాగుగా తెలియును.
5. 11నేను న్యాయము తప్పి మరణమునకు తగినదేదైనను చేసినయెడల మరణమునకు వెనుకతీయను; వీరు నామీద మోపుచున్న నేరములలో ఏదియు నిజముకాని యెడల నన్ను వారికి అప్పగించుటకు ఎవరితరముకాదు; కైసరు ఎదుటనే చెప్పుకొందుననెను.
