1. 15ఐగుప్తునకు వెళ్లి ఐగుప్తులోనుండి నా కుమారుని పిలిచితిని అని ప్రవక్తద్వారా ప్రభువు సెలవిచ్చిన మాట నెరవేర్చ బడునట్లు హేరోదు మరణమువరకు అక్కడనుండెను.
2. 16ఆ జ్ఞానులు తన్ను అపహసించిరని హేరోదు గ్రహించి బహు ఆగ్రహము తెచ్చుకొని, తాను జ్ఞానులవలన వివర ముగా తెలిసికొనిన కాలమునుబట్టి, బేత్లెహేములోను దాని సకల ప్రాంతములలోను, రెండు సంవత్సరములు మొదలుకొని తక్కువ వయస్సుగల మగపిల్లల నందరిని వధించెను.
3. 17అందువలన రామాలో అంగలార్పు వినబడెను ఏడ్పును మహారోదనధ్వనియు కలిగెను
4. 18రాహేలు తన పిల్లలవిషయమై యేడ్చుచు వారు లేనందున ఓదార్పు పొందనొల్లక యుండెను అని ప్రవక్తయైన యిర్మీయాద్వారా చెప్పబడిన వాక్యము నెరవేరెను.
5. 19హేరోదు చనిపోయిన తరువాత ఇదిగో ప్రభువు దూత ఐగుప్తులో యోసేపునకు స్వప్నమందు ప్రత్యక్షమై
