1. 11அதற்குமுன்னே அவனை அறிந்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் அவன் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளோடிருந்து, தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறதைக் கண்டபோது: கீசின் குமாரனுக்கு வந்தது என்ன? சவுலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவனோ? என்று அந்த ஜனங்கள் ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக் கொண்டார்கள்.
2. 12அதற்கு அங்கே இருக்கிறவர்களில் ஒருவன்: இவர்களுக்குத் தகப்பன் யார் என்றான்; ஆதலால் சவுலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளில் ஒருவனோ? என்பது பழமொழியாயிற்று.

4. 14அப்பொழுது சவுலுடைய சிறிய தகப்பன்: நீங்கள் எங்கே போனீர்கள் என்று அவனையும் அவன் வேலைக்காரனையும் கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவன்: நாங்கள் கழுதைகளைத் தேடப்போய், அவைகளை எங்குங் காணாதபடியினால், சாமுவேலிடத்துக்குப் போனோம் என்றான்.
5. 15அப்பொழுது சவுலின் சிறியதகப்பன்: சாமுவேல் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னது என்ன? அதைச் சொல் என்றான்.
