தாவீதோ சவுலின் வாளைத் தன் யுத்த உடையின்மேல் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, ஆயுதம் தரித்துப் பழக்கமில்லாதபடியால் சுத்தி நடக்க முயன்றான். அதனால் அவன் சவுலிடம், “இவற்றுடன் என்னால் போகமுடியாது. ஏனெனில் எனக்கு இவை பழக்கமில்லை” என்று சொல்லி அவற்றைக் கழற்றினான்.
