அன்று லாபான் புள்ளி உள்ள ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், ஆடுகளையும் பிரித்து மறைத்துவிட்டான். கறுப்பு ஆடுகளையும் தனியாகப் பிரித்து மறைத்தான். அவற்றைத் தன் மகன்களிடம் கொடுத்து கவனிக்கும்படி சொன்னான்.

4. 36தனக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் இடையிலே மூன்றுநாள் பிரயாணத்தூரத்தில் இருக்கும்படி வைத்தான். லாபானுடைய மற்ற ஆடுகளை யாக்கோபு மேய்த்தான்.
5. 37பின்பு யாக்கோபு பச்சையாயிருக்கிற புன்னை, வாதுமை, அர்மோன் என்னும் மரங்களின் கொப்புகளை வெட்டி, இடையிடையே வெண்மை தோன்றும்படி, பட்டையை உரித்து,
