அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் மனிதர்களில் மூவாயிரம்பேர் சிம்சோன் இருந்த ஏத்தாமின் பாதையிலிருந்த குகைக்குச் சென்று அவனிடம், “பெலிஸ்தியரே எங்கள்மேல் ஆளுநர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை நீ உணரவில்லையா? நீ எங்களுக்குச் செய்தது என்ன?” என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவன், “அவர்கள் எனக்குச் செய்ததையே நான் அவர்களுக்குச் செய்தேன்” என்றான்.
