ஆசாரியன் அந்தப் புள்ளியைப் பரிசோதிக்க வேண்டும். அதிலுள்ள உரோமம் வெண்மையாகி, அந்தப்புண் தோலைவிட ஆழமாகக் காணப்பட்டால், அதுவும் வெந்துபோனதிலிருந்து தோன்றிய தொற்று வியாதியாகும். எனவே ஆசாரியன் அவனை அசுத்தமானவன் என்று அறிவிக்கவேண்டும். அது தொற்றும் தோல்வியாதி ஆகும்.

Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, [if] the hair in the bright spot be turned white, and it [be in] sight deeper than the skin; it [is] a leprosy broken out of the burning: wherefore the priest shall pronounce him unclean: it [is] the plague of leprosy.
