சங்கீதம் 127

கர்த்தர் வீட்டைக் கட்டாராகில், அதைக் கட்டுகிறவர்களின் பிரயாசம் விருதா;
A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain.

கர்த்தர் நகரத்தைக் காவாராகில்காவலாளர் விழித்திருக்கிறது விருதா.
[It is] vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: [for] so he giveth his beloved sleep.

நீங்கள் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, நேரப்பட வேலையிலே தரித்து, வருத்தத்தின் அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிடுகிறதும் விருதா; அவரே தமக்குப் பிரியமானவனுக்கு நித்திரை அளிக்கிறார்.
Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.

இதோ, பிள்ளைகள் கர்த்தரால் வரும் சுதந்தரம், கர்ப்பத்தின் கனி அவரால் கிடைக்கும் பலன்.
As arrows [are] in the hand of a mighty man; so [are] children of the youth.

வாலவயதின் குமாரர் பலவான் கையிலுள்ள அம்புகளுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.
Happy [is] the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

அவைகளால் தன் அம்பறாத்தூணியை நிரப்பின புருஷன் பாக்கியவான்; அவர்கள் நாணமடையாமல் ஒலிமுகவாசலில் சத்துருக்களோடேபேசுவார்கள். (ஆரோகண சங்கீதம்.)
