1. 1अहाब के तो सत्तर बेटे, पोते, शोमरोन में रहते थे। सो येहू ने शोमरोन में उन पुरनियों के पास, और जो यिज्रैल के हाकिम थे, और जो अहाब के लड़के-बालों के पालने वाले थे, उनके पास पत्र लिख कर भेजे,
2. 2कि तुम्हारे स्वामी के बेटे, पोते तो तुम्हारे पास रहते हैं, और तुम्हारे रथ, और घोड़े भी हैं, और तुम्हारे एक गढ़वाला नगर, और हथियार भी हैं; तो इस पत्र के हाथ लगते ही,
3. 3अपने स्वामी के बेटों में से जो सब से अच्छा और योग्य हो, उसको छांट कर, उसके पिता की गद्दी पर बैठाओ, और अपने स्वामी के घराने के लिये लड़ो।
4. 4परंतु वे निपट डर गए, और कहने लगे, उसके साम्हने दो राजा भी ठहर न सके, फिर हम कहां ठहर सकेंगे?
