उस ने यह कहा, जो हो सो हो, परन्तु मुझे दौड़ जाने दे। उसने उस से कहा, दौड़। तब अहीमास दौड़ा, और तराई से होकर कूशी के आगे बढ़ गया।

Us ne yah kahaa, jo ho so ho, parantu mujhe daud jaane de. Usane us se kahaa, daud. Tab aheemaas daudaa, aur taraaee se hokar kooshee ke aage badh gayaa.

King James Version (KJV): But howsoever, [said he], let me run. And he said unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi.

24दाऊद तो दो फाटकों के बीच बैठा था, कि पहरूआ जो फाटक की छत से होकर शहरपनाह पर चढ़ गया था, उस ने आंखें उठाकर क्या देखा, कि एक मनुष्य अकेला दौड़ा आता है।
25जब पहरूए ने पुकारके राजा को यह बता दिया, तब राजा ने कहा, यदि अकेला आता हो, तो सन्देशा लाता होगा। वह दौड़ते दौड़ते निकल आया।
