फिर पहरूए ने एक और मनुष्य को दौड़ते हुए देख फाटक के रखवाले को पुकारके कहा, सुन, एक और मनुष्य अकेला दौड़ा आता है। राजा ने कहा, वह भी सन्देशा लाता होगा।

Phir paharooe ne ek aur manushy ko daudate hue dekh phaatak ke rakhavaale ko pukaarake kahaa, sun, ek aur manushy akelaa daudaa aataa hai. Raajaa ne kahaa, vah bhee sandeshaa laataa hogaa.

24दाऊद तो दो फाटकों के बीच बैठा था, कि पहरूआ जो फाटक की छत से होकर शहरपनाह पर चढ़ गया था, उस ने आंखें उठाकर क्या देखा, कि एक मनुष्य अकेला दौड़ा आता है।
25जब पहरूए ने पुकारके राजा को यह बता दिया, तब राजा ने कहा, यदि अकेला आता हो, तो सन्देशा लाता होगा। वह दौड़ते दौड़ते निकल आया।
26फिर पहरूए ने एक और मनुष्य को दौड़ते हुए देख फाटक के रखवाले को पुकारके कहा, सुन, एक और मनुष्य अकेला दौड़ा आता है। राजा ने कहा, वह भी सन्देशा लाता होगा।
27पहरूए ने कहा, पुझे तो ऐसा देख पड़ता है कि पहले का दौड़ना सादोक के पुत्रा अहीमास का सा है। राजा ने कहा, वह तो भला मनुष्य है, तो भला सन्देश लाता होगा।
28तब अहीमास ने पुकारके राजा से कहा, कल्याण। फिर उस ने भूमि पर मुंह के बल गिर राजा को दणडवत् करके कहा, तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा धन्य है, जिस ने मेरे प्रभु राजा के विरूद्ध हाथ उठानेवाले मनुष्यों को तेरे वश में कर दिया है!
