अपनी खेरी, वरन अपने जने हुए बच्चों को क्रूर दृष्टि से देखेगी, क्योंकि घिर जाने और सकेती के समय जिस में तेरे शत्रु तुझे तेरे फाटकों के भीतर घेरकर रखेंगे, वह सब वस्तुओं की घटी के मारे उन्हें छिप के खाएगी।

- 58यदि तू इन व्यवस्था के सारे वचनों के पालने में, जो इस पुस्तक में लिखें है, चौकसी करके उस आदरनीय और भययोग्य नाम का, जो यहोवा तेरे परमेश्वर का है भय न माने,
- 59तो यहोवा तुझ को और तेरे वंश को अनोखे अनोखे दण्ड देगा, वे दुष्ट और बहुत दिन रहनेवाले रोग और भारी भारी दण्ड होंगे।
