उन दिनों में इस्राएलियों का कोई राजा न था। और उन्हीं दिनों में दानियों के गोत्र के लोग रहने के लिये कोई भाग ढूंढ़ रहे थे; क्योंकि इस्राएली गोत्रों के बीच उनका भाग उस समय तक न मिला था।
Un dinom mem israaeliyom kaa koee raajaa na thaa. Aur unheem dinom mem daaniyom ke gotr ke log rahane ke liye koee bhaag dhoondh rahe the; kyonki israaelee gotrom ke beech unakaa bhaag us samay tak na milaa thaa.

- 2तब दानियों ने अपने सब कुल में से पांच शूरवीरों को सोरा और एशताओल से देश का भेद लेने और उस में देख भाल करने के लिये यह कहकर भेज दिया, कि जा कर देश में देख भाल करो। इसलिये वे एप्रैम के पहाड़ी देश में मीका के घर तक जा कर वहां टिक गए।
- 3जब वे मीका के घर के पास आए, तब उस जवान लेवीय का बोल पहचाना; इसलिये वहां मुड़कर उस से पूछा, तुझे यहां कौन ले आया? और तू यहां क्या करता है? और यहां तेरे पास क्या है?
