1. 19ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಹೊಯ್ದು--ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ದೂರವಾಗ ಮಾಡಲಿ; ನಾನು ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಪ್ರಾಣ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯಬಹುದೇ? ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣ ಗಳಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ತಂದರಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಕುಡಿಯ ಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
2. 20ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೋವಾಬನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈಯು ಮೂರು ಮಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಮಂದಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರುಗೊಂಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
3. 21ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವನು ಪ್ರಧಾನನಾಗಿದ್ದನು; ಆದರೆ ಮೂವರ ಕೂಡ ಸೇರದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗಿಂತ ಅವನು ಘನವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು;
4. 22ಕಬ್ಜಯೇಲಿನವ ನಾದ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯ ಮಗನಾದಂಥ ಯೆಹೋ ಯಾದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಅನೇಕ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗ ಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಅವನು ಸಿಂಹದ ಹಾಗಿರುವ ಮೋವಾಬಿನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಹಿಮದ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಿಂಹವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
5. 23ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅವನು ಐದುಮೊಳ ಉದ್ದವಾದ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದುಬಿಟ್ಟನು; ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೇಯ್ಗೆಗಾರರ ಕುಂಟೆಯಂತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಈಟಿ ಇತ್ತು; ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಕೋಲು ಹಿಡುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಈಟಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದನು.
