ಇವರು ಮೊದ ಲನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಯೊರ್ದನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಡಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಳಿದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಮೂಡಲ ಪಡವಣ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಗ್ಗುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

- 16ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನನ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಬಲವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
- 17ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಎದುರು ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು--ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಬಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಏಕವಾಗಿರುವದು. ಆದರೆ ದೋಷವು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವಾಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ವೈರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸದಿಂದ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಲು ಬಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃ ಗಳ ದೇವರು ನೋಡಿ ಗದರಿಸಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
