ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು -- ಏರನು, ಓನಾನನು, ಶೇಲಾಹನು ಈ ಮೂವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಶೂನನ ಮಗ ಳಾದ ಕಾನಾನ್‌ ದೇಶದವಳಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗನಾದ ಏರನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು.

Yehoodana makkalu -- eranu, onaananu, shelaahanu ee moovaru avanige shoonana maga laada kaanaan deshadavalinda huttidaru. Aadare yehoodana chochchala maganaada eranu kartana sammukhadalli kettavanaadadarinda aatanu avanannu konduhaakidanu.

King James Version (KJV): The sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah: [which] three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD; and he slew him.
