1. 21ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ದಾವೀದ ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ದಾವೀದನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೋರೆ ಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು.
2. 22ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಬಾಧೆಯು ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕಣದ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ಅಂದನು.
3. 23ಒರ್ನಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೋ; ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ. ಇಗೋ, ದಹನಬಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಂತಿಯ ಬಾತಿಮುಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಹಾರದ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
4. 24ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನಿಗೆ--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಅದನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿನ್ನದನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳೆನು; ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಬಂದ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
5. 25ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನಿಗೆ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಆರು ನೂರು ಶೇಕೆಲ್‌ ತೂಕ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
