Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of [this] threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

1. 20ಆದರೆ ಒರ್ನಾನನು ಗೋಧಿಯನ್ನು ತುಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರು ವಾಗ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಅವನ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರೂ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
2. 21ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ದಾವೀದ ನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಕಣದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ದಾವೀದನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೋರೆ ಕೆಳಗಾಗಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದನು.
3. 22ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಬಾಧೆಯು ಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಕಣದ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡು ಅಂದನು.
4. 23ಒರ್ನಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೋ; ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ. ಇಗೋ, ದಹನಬಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಂತಿಯ ಬಾತಿಮುಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಹಾರದ ಅರ್ಪಣೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
5. 24ಆದರೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಒರ್ನಾನನಿಗೆ--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ಅದನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಕ್ರಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿನ್ನದನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳೆನು; ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಬಂದ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
