ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋ ನನು ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮೃದುವಾದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕಾದ ಮನೆಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಘನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ನಾನು ಅದ ಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಈಗ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.

King James Version (KJV): And David said, Solomon my son [is] young and tender, and the house [that is] to be builded for the LORD [must be] exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will [therefore] now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

3ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಾಗಲುಗಳ ಕದಗಳನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಮೊಳೆಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವನ್ನೂ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲ ದಷ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ತಾಮ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು;
4ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಸಿದನು; ಚೀದೋನ್ಯರೂ ತೂರ್ಯರೂ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದರು.
5ಇದ ಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋ ನನು ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮೃದುವಾದವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಬೇಕಾದ ಮನೆಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯದ ಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಧಿಕ ಘನವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು; ನಾನು ಅದ ಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಈಗ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.
6ಆಗ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಮನೆ ಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಲು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
7ದಾವೀ ದನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ನಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂಬದು ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು.
