1. 1ಪ್ರಿಯರೇ, ಅನೇಕ ಸುಳ್ಳುಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಲೋಕದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆತ್ಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ ಆಯಾ ಆತ್ಮಗಳು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದವುಗಳೋ ಅಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಬೇಕು.
2. 2ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದನೆಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ; ಇದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಈ ಆತ್ಮನು ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳು ತ್ತೀರಿ.
3. 3ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದನೆಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟದ್ದಲ್ಲ; ಅದು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತವಿರೋಧಿಯ ಆತ್ಮ ವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದು ಬರುವದೆಂಬದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿ ದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ; ಈಗಲೂ ಅದು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ.
4. 4ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ನೀವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವರಾ ಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವಾತನು ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವನಿಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
5. 5ಅವರು ಲೋಕಸಂಬಂಧಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಈ ಕಾರಣ ದಿಂದ ಅವರು ಲೋಕಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾ ಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಲೋಕದವರು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
