ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರ ಆಲೋ ಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.

- 6ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಬದುಕಿರುವಾಗ ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಕೇಳಲು--ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಲು ಏನು ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 7ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಇಂದು ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡು, ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾಗಿರುವರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
- 8ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿದ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದು ತನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರ ಆಲೋ ಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
- 9ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡಲು ಏನು ಯೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 10ಆಗ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬೆಳೆದ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಭಾರ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೆ--
