ಅವನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಇವನು ಕರತಂದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ ತಡಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು.

- 22ನೀನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಣ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಮಾಧಿಗೆ ಬರುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
- 23ಅವನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿಂದು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಇವನು ಕರತಂದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ ತಡಿ ಹಾಕಿದನು.
- 24ಅವನು ಹೋದ ತರುವಾಯ ಸಿಂಹವು ಅವನನ್ನು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿತು. ಅವನ ಹೆಣ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು; ಕತ್ತೆಯೂ ಸಿಂಹವೂ ಹೆಣದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು.
- 25ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಹೆಣವನ್ನೂ ಹೆಣದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವ ಸಿಂಹವನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿ ವೃದ್ಧ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು;
