ಈಗ ಎರಡು ಹೋರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ; ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ತುಂಡು ತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಲಿ. ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡುವೆನು.

21ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಸಕಲ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು--ನೀವು ಎರಡು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟರ ವರೆಗೂ ನಿಂತವರಾಗಿ ಇರುವಿರಿ. ಕರ್ತನು ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿರಿ; ಬಾಳನು ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಜನರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಮಾತಾದರೂ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
22ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಬಾಳನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನಾನೂರಐವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
23ಈಗ ಎರಡು ಹೋರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿ; ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ಆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ತುಂಡು ತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಲಿ. ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡುವೆನು.
24ಆಗ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿರಿ; ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವೆನು. ಆಗ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇವರು ತಾನೇ ದೇವರಾಗಿ ರುವನು ಅಂದನು.
25ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ಈ ಮಾತು ಒಳ್ಳೇದು ಅಂದರು. ಆಗ ಎಲೀ ಯನು ಬಾಳನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಅನೇಕರಾಗಿ ರುವದರಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕದೆ ಇರ್ರಿ ಅಂದನು.
