1. 25ಆಗ ಅರಸನುಬದುಕಿರುವ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಎರಡು ತುಂಡಾಗಿ ಕಡಿದು ಇವಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಧಪಾಲನ್ನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಧ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕೊಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.
2. 26ಆಗ ಬದುಕಿರುವ ಕೂಸಿನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದವಳ ಕರುಳುಗಳು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗಾಗಿ ಮರುಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ಓ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆ ಯನೇ, ಬದುಕಿರುವ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಇವಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡು; ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಲೇ ಬೇಡ ಅಂದಳು. ಆದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳು--ಅದು ನನ್ನದಾಗಲಿ ನಿನ್ನದಾಗಲಿ ಆಗಿರಬಾರದು; ಕಡಿ ಯಿರಿ ಅಂದಳು.
3. 27ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿಬದುಕಿರುವ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಇವಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಿರಿ; ಕೊಲ್ಲ ಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಇವಳೇ ಅದರ ತಾಯಿ ಅಂದನು.ಅರಸನು ತೀರಿಸಿದ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲ್ಯರು ಕೇಳಿ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಲು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಜ್ಞಾನವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನೋಡಿದರು.
