ನಾನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರುವ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವರು ಎಂದೂ ನಾನು ಕರ್ತನ ದಯೆ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಿ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದೆನು ಅಂದನು.

- 13ಸಮು ವೇಲನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನವಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀ; ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
- 14ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ನಿಲ್ಲಲಾರದು. ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಹೋದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸರಣೆಯಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾಯಕನನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
