2. 38ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡಿಸಿ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಹಿತ್ತಾಳೆಯ ಶಿರಸ್ತ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕವಚವನ್ನು ತೊಡಿಸಿದನು.
3. 39ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ವಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ--ನನಗೆ ಅವುಗಳ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇವುಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗ ಲಾರೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಹಾಕಿ
