ದಾವೀದನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಸೌಲನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು--ಯೌವನ ಸ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ಯಾರ ಮಗನು ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕ ನಾಗಿರುವ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನವನಾದ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ಅಂದನು.

Daaveedanu philishtiyanannu kondu avana taleyannu tegedukondu tirigi baruvaaga abneranu avanannu karedu saulana munde nillisidanu.aaga saulanu--yauvana stane, neenu yaara maganu endu avanannu kelidanu. Adakke daaveedanu--naanu ninna sevaka naagiruva betleheminavanaada ishayana maganu andanu.

55ದಾವೀದನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟ ದ್ದನ್ನು ಸೌಲನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಅಬ್ನೇರನಿಗೆ--ಅಬ್ನೇರನೇ, ಈ ಯುವಕನು ಯಾರ ಮಗನು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ನೇರನು--ಅರಸನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ ನಾನರಿಯೆ ಅಂದನು.
56ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು ಆ ಯೌವನಸ್ಥನು ಯಾರ ಮಗನೆಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
