ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಾಣಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳದ ವರೆಗೆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋದಾಗ--ಬಾಣವು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಚೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೂಗಿದನು.

Yonaataananu haakida baanabidda sthalada varege huduganu hodaaga--baanavu ninage aache illavo endu yonaataananu hudugana hinde koogidanu.

36ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ನಾನು ಹಾಕುವ ಬಾಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಓಡುವಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಚೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಎಸೆದನು.
37ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹಾಕಿದ ಬಾಣಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳದ ವರೆಗೆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋದಾಗ--ಬಾಣವು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಚೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೂಗಿದನು.
38ನೀನು ಆಲಸ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ತ್ವರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗು ಎಂದು ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಹುಡುಗನು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
39ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ ದಾವೀದನೂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಆ ಸಂಗತಿ ಯನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
