1. 19ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನ್ನ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವನು. ನಾಳೆ ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವಿರಿ. ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವನು ಅಂದನು.
2. 20ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೋರ್ಲ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸಮುವೇಲನ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಭಯ ಪಟ್ಟನು. ಆ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಊಟ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಅವನೊಳಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋಯಿತು.
3. 21ಆಗ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ತಲ್ಲಣ ಪಟ್ಟನೆಂದು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡೆನು; ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.
4. 22ಆದದ ರಿಂದ ಈಗ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನೀನು ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಡೆಯುವಾಗ ನಿನಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಒಂದು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಇರಿಸಲು ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡು; ನೀನು ತಿನ್ನು ಅಂದಳು.
5. 23ಅದಕ್ಕವನು ಒಪ್ಪದೆ--ನಾನು ತಿನ್ನುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನ ದಾಸರೂ ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನೆಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎದ್ದು ಮಂಚದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು.
