ದಾವೀದನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರಲಾರದೆ ದಣಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬೆಸೋರಿನ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನ ರನ್ನೂ ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅವರ ಕ್ಷೇಮಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.

King James Version (KJV): And David came to the two hundred men, which were so faint that they could not follow David, whom they had made also to abide at the brook Besor: and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people that [were] with him: and when David came near to the people, he saluted them.

20ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕುರಿ ಪಶುಗಳ ಮಂದೆಗ ಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದನು; ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪಶು ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಹೊಡಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾಇವು ದಾವೀದನ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರು.
21ದಾವೀದನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರಲಾರದೆ ದಣಿದಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬೆಸೋರಿನ ಹಳ್ಳದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿದ್ದ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಜನ ರನ್ನೂ ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅವರ ಕ್ಷೇಮಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
22ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟವರಾದ ಬೆಲಿಯಾಳನ ಜನರು--ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಾರದೆ ಇದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ತಿರಿಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲಿ ಅಂದರು.
23ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಈ ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕರ್ತನು ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಕೇಳುವರು?
