1. 9ಆಗ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಹಾಲು ಕುಡಿಯುವ ಕುರಿಮರಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು; ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟನು.
2. 10ಸಮುವೇಲನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವಾಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಗುಡುಗಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿ ಸಿದನು; ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊಡೆ ಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು.
3. 11ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಮಿಚ್ಛೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ ಬೇತ್ಕರಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದರು.
4. 12ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಒಂದು ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಗೂ ಶೇನಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ--ಈವರೆಗೂ ಕರ್ತನು ನಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಬೆನೆಜೆರ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
5. 13ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಇದ್ದ ದಿವಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೈ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
