1. 21ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೆ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರೂ ಅರವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಉಪ ಪತ್ನಿಯರೂ ಇದ್ದರು; ಅವನು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆಂಟು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನೂ ಅರವತ್ತು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋ ಮನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಮಾಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.
2. 22ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಮಾಕಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಯನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಸ್ಥನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.ಅವನು ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ನಡೆದು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾ ನಿನ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಲವಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗ ಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದುರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ದವಸಧಾನ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರ ಸಮೂಹವನ್ನು ಆಶಿಸಿದನು.
