ಆಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದಂಡಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ನೂರು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು--ಕರ್ತನು ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಶಕ್ತನು ಅಂದನು.

Aaga amachyanu devara manushyanige--aadare israayelina dandige naanu kotta nooru talaantugaligoskara enu maadabeku andanu. Adakke devara manushyanu--kartanu idakkinta adhikavaagi ninage kodalu shaktanu andanu.

8ನೀನು ಹೋದರೆ ಹೋಗು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡು; ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳು. ದೇವರು ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬೀಳಮಾಡುವನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಬೀಳಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಉಂಟು ಅಂದನು.
9ಆಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ--ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದಂಡಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ನೂರು ತಲಾಂತುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು--ಕರ್ತನು ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಶಕ್ತನು ಅಂದನು.
10ಆಗ ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮಿನಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಸೈನಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿದನು. ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಕೋಪವು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಉರಿಯಿತು. ಅವರು ಕೋಪದ ಉರಿಯಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿದರು.
11ಅಮಚ್ಯನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇಯಾ ರಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಳಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು.
