ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ದಂಡಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಈಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶಿರಸ್ತ್ರಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಕ್ಕಿನ ಕವಚಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕವಣೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದನು.

- 15ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಸೆಯುವ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಬುರುಜುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮಣ್ಣು ದಿಬ್ಬಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರಲು ಪ್ರವೀಣರಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ ಯಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೆಸರು ಬಹಳ ದೂರದ ವರೆಗೆ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಾಯಿತು. ಬಹು ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ವನಾಗುವ ಪರ್ಯಂತರ ಅವನು ಬಹು ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ವಾಗಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಹೊಂದಿದನು.
- 16ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಬಲ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಧೂಪಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಧೂಪ ಸುಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತ ನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
