ಆಹಾಜನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅರಮನೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನರಿಂದಲೂ ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದನು.
Aahaajanu kartana maneyindaloo aramaneyindaloo pradhaanarindaloo ondu paalannu tegedukondu ashshoorina arasanige kottanu; aadare avanu ivanige sahaaya maadade hodanu.

- 22ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 23ಏನಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ--ಅವು ನನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದ ದಮಸ್ಕ ದವರ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವು ಅವನನ್ನೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದವು.
