1. 2ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
2. 3ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಮೊದಲನೇ ವರುಷದ ಮೊದಲನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಲು ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.
3. 4ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೂಡಣ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--
4. 5ಲೇವಿಯರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ; ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅದರ ಮೈಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಾನದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿರಿ.
5. 6ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಅಪರಾಧಮಾಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕರ್ತನ ನಿವಾಸ ಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬೆನ್ನುಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
