ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

1ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೊಂಭತ್ತು ವರುಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಅಬೀಯಳು; ಇವಳು ಜೆಕರೀಯನ ಮಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.
2ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
3ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಮೊದಲನೇ ವರುಷದ ಮೊದಲನೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಲು ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.
4ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಮೂಡಣ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--
