ಅಜರ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು; ಅವನನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸ್ಮಶಾನ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟರು; ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋತಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾದನು.
Ajaryanu tanna pitrugala sangada nidrisidanu; avanannu daaveedana pattanadalli avana pitrugala smashaana bhoomiyalli hoonittaru; avana maganaada yotaamanu avanige badalaagi arasanaadanu.

- 8ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಮೂವತ್ತೆಂಟನೇ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಗ ನಾದ ಜೆಕರ್ಯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಆಳಿದನು.
- 9ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನ್ನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದ ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
